Life
2: Not only animals and plants are in trouble;
so are many people.
If you're reading this,
you're probably not poor. Really poor people — and
there are millions and millions of them around the
world — have no homes, no land to grow food,
no jobs, no schools, no medical care, no money,
live in squalor and probably don't even know when
they will be able to eat again. Worst of all is there's
nothing they can do about it. They are stuck in
a trap — the poverty trap. There's no escape...
unless more fortunate people with money and power
choose to help them.
So why are there so many poor people and so many animals in danger of dying out? Because of the future-eaters — people who take much more than their fair share; people who are greedy; people who care only about themselves.
